Top Hezbollah Official at Pro-Palestine Conference in Istanbul: Supporting Gaza Source of Pride

Head of Hezbollah’s International and Arab Affairs Ammar Al-Moussawi stressed that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was not an adventure, and the pro-Gaza front in Lebanon was not a gamble.

Addressing the International Conference in Support of Gaza and Al-Quds, held in Turkey’s Istanbul, Hezbollah’s Al-Moussawi affirmed that the “Arab and Muslim abandonment of Gaza over two years or more of struggle, sacrifice, patience, tears, thirst, and pain is a conspiracy.”

“This abonnement is the gamble that put the fate of this nation and the fate of Palestine at stake.”

“What does it mean that a nation of nearly two billion people does not respond to the sacrifices and resistance of its people?”, the top Hezbollah official said on Sunday, addressing the conference attended by nearly 300 Arab and Muslim Figures.

“Many have criticized us for our participation in supporting Gaza, saying it was a mistake or a sin. Our response is that what you criticize us for was, is, and will remain a source of our pride and honor,” he said, in remarks carried by Al-Manar.

“Operation Al-Aqsa Flood exposed ‘Israel’ twice; once when it showed it to be fragile and crumbling entity, and again when it showed it to be a savage killer,” Al-Moussawi said.

Commenting on Israeli threats to wage a new war on Lebanon, the top Hezbollah official stressed that such pressure “make us certain that we are still strong, despite all the blows we have been dealt.”

“If surrender were in our vocabulary—if that term even existed in our minds—we would have done it when Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah was martyred. However, we know no surrender, only steadfastness,” Al-Moussawi stated.
