Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Dr. Hamad Hasan, signed a new agreement with the Syndicate of Private Hospitals represented by its president Sleiman Haroun, by which to raise the tariffs agreed upon last October for personal protection supplies used to prevent coronavirus infection and the ventilators used for treatment, provided that private hospitals commit to receiving COVID-19 patients in accordance with the legal principles in force, providing them with the best health and hospital services possible.
The Syndicate pledges to take all legal measures against any private hospital that violates the terms of this agreement, in accordance with the union’s bylaw.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Public Health shall take all legal measures against any hospital that violates the terms of this agreement or refuses to admit patients at the expense of the Ministry of Public Health.
The signing of this agreement comes within the framework of the efforts made to increase private hospitals’ contribution to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Minister Hasan expressed his satisfaction with the concluded agreement in which the Ministry of Public Health responded to the demands of private hospitals, adding that “there is no excuse anymore for these hospitals’ reluctance to receive corona patients.”
