UK’s National Health Service reported on Tuesday that the COVID-19 death toll in English hospitals rose by 778 to 15,607 from 14,829 the previous day.
“24 of the 778 patients (aged between 49 and 91 years old) had no known underlying health condition,” the health service said.
According to the World Health Organization, the UK currently has more than 120,000 registered cases of the coronavirus, with the death toll surpassing 16,000.
The day before, England’s daily coronavirus death toll rose by 429 people, according to the National Health Service.
