Trapped between the death of hunger and the brutality of massacres, people of Gaza endure the Israeli occupation’s deliberate campaign of extermination. News emerging from the besieged enclave on Tuesday reveal the grim tragedy Gazans are witnessing in the latest hours.
The number of people martyred so far by Israeli forces across Gaza today has increased to at least 43, according to medical sources.
The figure includes at least 10 aid seekers, Al Jazeera reported, citing the sources.
Of the 43 martyrs, at least 13 people were martyred by Israeli shelling of Al-Shati refugee camp.
Deadly Famine
The sources said that a child from Khan Younis in the enclave’s south and a 40-day-old baby in the north of Gaza have died of malnutrition.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said more than one million children in Gaza are going hungry as the Israeli has only allowed a trickle of food and humanitarian aid to enter the Strip since March.

The agency added that since late-May, more than 1,000 people have been killed by Israeli fire while waiting for humanitarian aid.
For her part, Rachel Cummings, Save the Children’s humanitarian director, said the situation in Gaza for children and their families is “catastrophic”.
She said there has been no adequate food supply in Gaza for a very long time.
The markets are empty and the water sanitation situation is not adequate to meet the needs of 2 million people, “who are all on the brink of famine”, Cummings added.
She said in Deir Al-Balah, she had seen “hungry people, children carrying empty bowls, looking for food, looking for water. It’s absolutely desperate here.
Israeli Attack on WHO Facility
On the other hand, the World Health Organization’s staff residence in the southern city of Deir Al-Balah was attacked three times by Israeli forces on Monday, Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said.
The occupation military confirmed on Tuesday its troops entered a building used to house World Health Organization personnel in central Gaza’s Deir Al-Balah and said they detained several staff.

“The Israeli military entered the premises, forcing women and children to evacuate on foot toward al-Mawasi amid active conflict. Male staff and family members were handcuffed, stripped, interrogated on the spot, and screened at gunpoint. Two WHO staff and two family members were detained. Three were later released, while one staff member remains in detention,” WHO said in a statement.
