Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate, Mustafa Adib, delays his visit to Baabda Palace after consulting the French circles and former premiers, according to Al-Manar reporter.

The meeting with President Michel Aoun was expected to tackle the latest developments related to the creation of the new government.

Al-Manar sources pointed out that most of the parliamentary blocs rejected that PM-designate nominates members of new cabinet, adding that MP Saad Hariri proposed granting the finance portfolio to the Sunnis, defense and foreign affairs to the Shia, and the interior ministry to the Orthodox.

On August 31, President Michel Aoun tasked the former ambassador to Germany to form the new government as 90 members of the parliament nominated him during the parliamentary consultations at Baabda Palace.
