Lebanon registered on Sunday 3,068 new coronavirus cases and 46 related deaths, Ministry of Public Health announced.
In its daily report, the ministry said that 3,065 of the new infections were recorded among local residents, noting that the other 21 other infections no imported cases registered during the last 24 hours.
46 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 5,380, the ministry stated.
16,684 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 2,889 at Beirut International Airport, according to the report.
2,337 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 936 at the ICU rooms with 286 of them are on ventilators, the report added.
The ministry noted that the positivity rate reached 17.4%, adding that the number of active cases is 43,415.
