Lebanon registered on Sunday 2,968 new coronavirus cases and 42 related deaths, Ministry of Public Health announced.
In its daily report, the ministry said that 2,943 of the new infections were recorded among local residents, noting that the other 25 other infections were imported cases registered during the last 24 hours.
42 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 5,757, the ministry stated.
The country witnesses on Monday the fourth and the last stage of the exit plan approved by the government earlier last month after six weeks of full lockdown aimed at curbing the sharp rise in coronavirus cases and deaths.
