Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday Killed a Palestinian after a stabbing attempt in the occupied east al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Occupation police first said the Palestinian suspect was shot and critically injured. But it later announced his death.
According to occupation police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri, a suspect approached a group of Israeli police forces deployed near the Austrian Hospice hospital in the Old City, took out a screwdriver and stabbed one of the officers in the head, lightly injuring him.
Israeli forces shot the alleged attacker, ‘neutralizing’ him, al-Samri said, adding later that the youth, whom she identified as a 21-year-old resident of the occupied al-Quds, had been taken to the Hadassah hospital in “critical condition.”
The occupied territories have been since October 2015 rocked by a wave of unrest due to strict Israeli measures especially in al-Quds and near al-Aqsa Mosque, with Zionist settlers, backed by IOF, repeatedly storming the holy compound.
Palestinians have been retaliating for the Israeli attacks by stabbing attempts. However, the occupation authorities have been using such attempts as a pretext to kill Palestinians.
Since October 2015, 242 Palestinians have been martyred while 36 Israelis have been killed.
