Lebanese President Michel Aoun, paid tribute the head of the Shiite Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan, who passed away on Saturday.
President Aoun indicated in a statement that the late Qabalan was famous for his call for solidarity, unity and a coexistence on the basis of national values and tolerance.
He added that these qualities earned him the respect of the Lebanese, his person and his role in uniting ranks and building bridges.
Finally, Aoun expressed his condolences to the Shiite Islamic Supreme Council, to House Speaker Nabih Berri, to the family of the deceased, to the Shiites and to all the Lebanese.
