Lebanese President Michel Aoun left Beirut this morning, heading to Qatar, at the invitation of Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to participate in the opening of the Arab Football Cup – FIFA 2021.
The President will also discuss, with Emir Sheikh Tamim, the ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields, in addition to working to activate the Lebanese-Qatari Joint Higher Committee, Presidency Press Office said in a statement carried by National News Agency (NNA).
The official accompanying delegation includes: Energy Minister, Walid Fayyad, former Minister, Pierre Raffoul, and Director General of General Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim.
The Lebanese Ambassador to Qatar Farah Berri will also join the delegation in Doha.
For his part, Minister Fayyad will discuss energy-related issues with Qatari officials, and the possibility of benefiting from their expertise in the field of exploration and extraction of gas and oil.
