China has called on the US to lift all sanctions on Iran at the first meeting of resumed nuclear negotiations between Iran and world powers in the Austrian capital, Vienna.
Wang Qun, Beijing’s envoy to the United Nations said sanctions are not compatible with 2015 nuclear deal, including restrictions on Iran-China trade, China’s permanent mission to the United Nations and other international organizations said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, several delegates attending the talks signaled a positive outlook on the seventh round of negotiations aimed at reviving nuclear deal.
“I feel extremely positive about what I have seen today,” said Enrique More, European Union Deputy Secretary-General and Political Director of the European External Action Service.
The bloc official explained to the media that Iran was sticking to its insistence that sanctions on the state be lifted, but he indicated that Tehran was not directly opposed to the progress made during previous rounds of negotiations.
Russia’s delegate to the conference, Mikhail Ulyanov, tweeted that the negotiations “started quite successfully.”
Iran’s top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani also told the media he was optimistic.
