President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, met Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati, today at Baabda Palace.
Forming the government, the successive developments in this regard, and the ongoing contacts to expedite the formation process were discussed.
The meeting also tackled on the latest data related to the file of the demarcation of the southern maritime borders and the mission of the American mediator, Amos Hochstein.
The meetings of the United Nations General Assembly and the Lebanon speech that Premier Mikati will deliver as head of the Lebanese delegation were also addressed.
After the meeting, PM Mikati told the journalists with a smile as he left the presidential palace: “This time we sat for half an hour, next time am going to come and keep sitting until the formation of the government, and I won’t go, I will sleep here”.
When asked about the next date of visit, the Premier replied: “After my return from travel”.
