Dozens of Nusra Front terrorists were killed in a strike conducted by the Syrian air force in Idlib in retaliation for the murder of five soldiers.
Russia’s TASS news agency on Sunday quoted Oleg Yegorov, the deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria, as saying that the Syrian air force targeted positions of Nusra Front “in response to a massive drone attack staged by terrorists on positions of Syrian government troops near Salma in the Idlib de-escalation zone which claimed the lives of five Syrian soldiers.”
“As a result of the attack, a training camp for militants and underground shelters of illegal armed groups in the area of the settlement of Ashkhani-Takhtani were destroyed. Ninety-three militants were killed, including field commanders … 135 members of the terrorist group were seriously injured,” Yegorov told a briefing.
Yegorov added that the air force destroyed a drone assembly workshop, and up to 40 strike drones, preventing terrorist attacks against the Russian armed forces and Syrian government forces.
