Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Friday visited the headquarters of the second Lebanese presidency in Ain al-Tineh, where he was received by Parliament Speaker, Nabih Berri.
Talks between the pair reportedly focused on the country’s general situation, as well as the latest political developments.
In the wake of the meeting, Mikati sufficed by saying, “We’ve discussed several political and economic issues.”
In response to a question whether the meeting had touched on the electricity dossier, he said: “Among our discussions was the electricity dossier.”
On the other hand, Speaker Berri received a congratulatory cable marking Lebanon’s 79th Independence from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Shura Council Speaker, Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf.
Speaker Berri later met with MP Faisal Karami, who welcomed his host’s call for dialogue to pave way for an agreement to exit the current crisis.
