A Hezbollah delegation, comprising of the Lebanese party’s members of Parliament, visited former president Michel Aoun on Thursday.
Led by Head of Hezbollah Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad, the Hezbollah delegation visited the ex-president at his residence in Rabieh.
MP Raad stressed Hezbollah’s keenness to preserve ties with the Free Patriotic Movement “according to principles set by President Aoun.”
Talking to reporters following the meeting, MP Raad said that the relation between Hezbollah and the FPM “relies on clarity, honesty and courage in dealing with those who are different.”
“Our country needs exerted efforts by all national powers in order to overcome the current crisis and to go ahead with state building on basis of mutual respect with other states,” MP Raad said in remarks carried by Al-Manar.
The Hezbollah delegation also included MPs Hussein Hajj Hasan, Hasan Fadlallah, Ali Ammar and Amin Sherri.
Lebanon has been in power vacuum since ex-president Aoun’s term ended on October 31, 2022.
