Syria was subjected overnight to a new Israeli aggression that killed four army personnel and injured four others in the vicinity of the country’s capital Damascus.
Multiple explosions were heard in the Syrian capital shortly after 2:20am, as at least one bright flash illuminated the skies, according to unverified video posted online.

“The Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus,” a military source told SANA, adding that air defenses were activated.
“Our air defenses intercepted the missiles and shot down some of them, and the aggression resulted in the martyrdom of four army personnel and the injury of four others, in addition to causing some material damages,” the source said.
Earlier in mid-July, an Israeli strike injured two Syrian soldiers, also near the Syrian capital. The Zionist regime has carried out more than 20 airstrikes against Syria since the beginning of the current year.
Damascus has repeatedly complained to the United Nations over the Israeli assaults, with such demands falling on deaf ears, like any complaint that urges the world body’s Security Council to take action against Tel Aviv’s crimes.
