Representatives of the two Palestinian movements Hamas and Fatah met at the Palestinian embassy in Beirut in order to maintain the cutious calm prevailed in the refugee camp of Ain Al-Hilweh on Tuesday, a day after a truce deal was reached in a meeting hosted by the Head of the General Security Directorate Elias Al-Baysari.
The camp witnessed a relatively calm night with some sporadic fire was heard on Tuesday morning, Al-Manar correspondent in the southern coastal city of Sidon reported.
National News Agency reported that intermittent machinegun bursts were heard from time to time on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, Palestinian factions attended the security meeting at Al-Baysari office in Beirut, with the participants reaching a truce.
Clashes which erupted last Thursday between Palestinian factions affiliated with Fatah and Islamic groups claimed lives of seven people, including civilians, and injured nearly 100 others.
