In an official and popular attendance, the funeral ceremony for the martyrs of the terrorist attack on the of the Military academy cadets began on Friday in front of the Military Hospital in Homs.
“The price of dignity and pride for the homeland is great, and the dearest thing that a human being can offer is himself. The martyrs who died yesterday, the price of their blood is very precious”, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Major Gen. Ali Abbas said in a statement to the reporters.
According to the Health Ministry, the number of martyrs from the terrorist attack that targeted a graduation ceremony at the Military Academy cadets in Homs rose to 89, as well as the number of injuries amounted to 277.
President al-Assad receives a cable of condolence from President Putin
President Bashar al-Assad received a cable of condolence from Russian President Vladimir Putin on the martyrs of the terrorist attack that targeted graduation ceremony of the Military academy cadets in Homs.
“We strongly condemn this brutal crime that resulted in victims, many of them women and children, and we hope that its perpetrators will be justly punished”, President Putin said in a cable published on Friday on the Kremlin website.
President Putin expressed sincere condolences, sympathy and support to the families of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery for the wounded.
President Putin affirmed his country’s determination to continue to cooperate closely with the Syrian state in combating all forms and manifestations of terrorism.
The Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi condemned the attack, stressing that the occupation forces that protect the terrorists must be held responsible for the crime.
The Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf sent a condolence cable to President Assad, demanding the international community to take a serious decision regarding fighting terror.
