In a joint press conference held in Damascus, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad discussed regional developments and key issues with his Iranian counterpart, emphasizing the critical role Syria plays in the region’s dynamics.
Al-Miqdad asserted that “Israel” bears a significant responsibility for the ongoing crises in the region, particularly due to its persistent denial of Palestinian rights.
He highlighted that when the Palestinian people rise to reclaim their historical rights, the United States and European nations provide unwavering support to “Israel,” a stance that he condemned.
Al-Miqdad also accused these nations of preventing essential supplies from reaching the Palestinian people, while the United States supplied “Israel” with weapons of mass destruction, leading to severe consequences.
Furthermore, Al-Miqdad pointed out that recent Israeli actions against the Palestinian people are a profound affront to international humanitarian law. He suggested that “Israel” seeks to expand its sphere of aggression, implicating other regional nations, and held it responsible for such ambitions.
Al-Miqdad expressed concurrence with Iran, asserting that “Israel’s” actions against the Palestinian people qualify as crimes against humanity.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian revealed discussions with Al-Miqdad regarding developments in Palestine and the reprehensible actions of the Zionist entity.
Abdollahian also recognized the continued existence of some Israeli settlements and camps under Palestinian resistance control.
Expressing his support and gratitude to journalists and correspondents for their commitment to revealing the truth about “Israel,” Amir Abdollahian urged swift international intervention to lift the blockade on Gaza and put an immediate halt to the war crimes perpetrated against civilians and the Palestinian people.
Amir Abdollahian warned those responsible for the atrocities against civilians, especially in Gaza, to cease their actions before it’s too late. He called for an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza, orchestrated through the manipulation of basic necessities like water and electricity.
The Iranian Foreign Minister further relayed the readiness and determination of the resistance, as conveyed by his meetings with key figures, including Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in Beirut. He expressed disappointment with the Arab League’s statement, emphasizing its lack of consensus among foreign ministers of Islamic nations. Amir Abdollahian stressed the need for an extraordinary meeting of Islamic country ministers and hoped it would convene promptly, either in Tehran or another suitable capital.
