Hezbollah Media Relations decried on Tuesday a surge in Zionist aggression targeting Al-Mayadeen Channel, revealing a pattern of attacks against media professionals and civilians.
The statement followed the tragic martyrdom of two esteemed colleagues, Al-Mayadeen reporter Farah Omar and photographer Rabie Al-Maamari, as a result of what the organization described as a treacherous crime by occupation forces.
This incident adds to a string of attacks, including the assassination of journalist Issam al-Abdullah, the shooting of a media convoy in Yaroun, and the killing of numerous journalists in Gaza, alongside the destruction of their headquarters by Israeli forces. Hezbollah emphasizes the crucial role played by the media in exposing the enemy’s actions, shedding light on its crimes against civilians, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
Hezbollah Media Relations vehemently condemns the heinous crime, extending deepest condolences to colleagues at Al-Mayadeen Channel and the families of the two martyrs, asserting that this aggression and the accompanying martyrdom of fellow citizens will not go unanswered.
Following is the full statement issued by Hezbollah Media Relations:
In yet another instance of reprehensible Zionist aggression, Al-Mayadeen Channel has once again become the target. Following the Israeli government’s arbitrary decision to restrict the channel within the occupied Palestinian territories, the Israeli forces committed a treacherous crime resulting in the martyrdom of two esteemed colleagues, reporter Farah Omar and photographer Rabih Me’mari.
This recent atrocity, coupled with the earlier assassination of journalist Issam al-Abdullah, the media convoy shooting in Yaroun, and the killing of numerous journalists in Gaza, along with the destruction of their headquarters, underscores the crucial role played by the media in exposing the enemy’s actions and lays bare its horrific crimes against civilians, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
The continued direct targeting of media professionals and the killing of journalists reflect the enemy’s extreme unease with the pivotal role played by the media, which through considerable efforts and sacrifices, has successfully shifted public opinion in favor of the oppressed Palestinian people against the murderous Israeli enemy.
We urgently call on international media and humanitarian organizations to condemn not only this crime but also the preceding ones. We implore them to raise their voices resoundingly and exert maximum pressure on the enemy government to cease its aggression against media professionals and civilians.
Hezbollah Media Relations vehemently condemns this heinous crime, extending our deepest condolences and sympathy to our colleagues at Al-Mayadeen Channel and the families of the two martyrs. We assert that this aggression and the accompanying martyrdom of fellow citizens will not go unanswered from the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance, who are engaging the enemy in the field with the most remarkable heroism and redemption.
