Iran held on Thursday mass funeral for senior Revolutionary Guards commander Razi Moussavi who was martyred in an Israeli strike in Syria earlier this week.
Thousands massed Thursday in the Iranian capital for the funeral of martyr Mousavi, as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei led the prayer service.
Imam Khamenei expressed condolences to the family of the revered martyr, who served in Syria as a military advisor, and lauded the tireless efforts made by him.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Chief Commander Hossein Salami praised martyr Mousavi as one of the most experienced and effective commanders of the IRGC in the Axis of Resistance.
General Salami emphasized that Mousavi was one of the most loyal companions of IRGC Quds Force’s late Commander Hajj Qassem Suleimani, who spent 45 years in fighting on different fronts.
“We will not remain silent on the assassination of our sons and we will take revenge by ending the existence of the Zionist entity,” the IRGC top commander addressed the funeral as quoted by Iranian media.
“Op. Al-Aqsa Flood Palestinian Move”
Meanwhile, General Salami affirmed that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7th was a Palestinian move.
“Al-Aqsa Flood’ was a completely Palestinian operation,” he said a day after remarks by IRGC spokesman Ramezan Sharif were misinterpreted that the attack on Oct. 7 was suggest in part motivated by revenge for the assassination of General Suleimani who was martyred by a US strike in Iraq’s Baghdad on January 2020.
“I say that the revenge for Hajj Qasem is a separate operation,” the Guards chief Salami said.
