Hezbollah Media Relations Office issued a statement mourning the martyrdom of Senior Commander Sayyed Fouad Shokr (Sayyed Mohsen), who rose as a result of an Israeli attack on Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh) on Tuesday. The statement reads:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
“Among the believers are those who have remained true to the covenant they made with Allah. Among those, some have fulfilled their vows, while others await the appointed time. They have not changed in the least.” {Holy Quran 33:23}
After a lifetime of unwavering faith in God, sincere jihad, and tireless dedication, and after a long wait to meet the Almighty and the beloved martyr commanders, God has graciously bestowed upon His devoted and loyal servant the esteemed honor of martyrdom, granting him this eternal union in His divine presence.
We mourn the loss of our esteemed and beloved senior military commander, Sayyed Fouad Shokr (Sayyed Mohsen), a prominent martyr on the path to Al-Quds. Sayyed Fouad’s sacrifices symbolize our resistance’s unwavering commitment to continue on the righteous path until the land and holy sites are liberated and the brutality of the usurping Israeli entity is eradicated.
Martyr Sayyed Mohsen was also a key pillar of the resistance, a major architect of its victories, strength, and resilience, and a battlefield commander who never abandoned his jihad duties until his final breath.
Just as his presence in life resembled a distinctive force for the resistance, his martyrdom will serve as a powerful impetus for his fellow fighters to advance with steadfastness, preserving achievements, victories, and strength, and striving to realize the goals that this prominent commander aspired to.
The martyrdom of Senior Commander Sayyed Fouad coincides with the commemoration days of Imam Hussein’s (A.S.) martyrdom. Indeed, he was a devoted admirer of Imam Hussein (A.S.), which further strengthens our resolve and determination to reject humiliation and oppression and not to surrender in weakness.
We offer our condolences and blessings to our awaited Savior, Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), to His Eminence Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, to all fighters and resistors in every arena, and to the loyal and sincere supporters of the resistance on the martyrdom of this great commander.
We extend our sincere condolences to his noble family, asking Allah to grant them patience and to accept this beloved martyr they offered. May he be gathered with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and join the luminous convoy of the martyrs of Karbala.
This is our statement of condolence and congratulations. As for Hezbollah’s political stance on this heinous aggression and grave crime, it will be articulated by Hezbollah’s Secretary General, Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, tomorrow, Thursday, during the martyrdom procession, God willing.
