In light of the bleak horizon dominating the negotiations related to the ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement in Gaza, a different deal has started to appear clearly between the lines of the US media articles.
New York Times published an article, entitled “How Netanyahu is Trying to Save Himself, Elect Trump and Defeat Harris”, to discuss how the Zionist prime minister and the former American president are coordinating their stances regarding Gaza deal and the US presidential elections.
The article went on to say that all Netanyahu’s decisions before that entitlement will be based on securing his own political privileges by helping Trump to win and pushing Harris to fail, including those related to escalating the war on Gaza and hindering any negotiation attempt to reach a ceasefire.
The author, Thomas Friedman, indicated that, if Harris criticizes the Israeli military performance in Gaza, she will lose the Jewish voters, while that she will loses the Muslim voters if she resorts to silence about any Zionist escalation.
Harris, accordingly, will face a dilemma which will make her appear weak and give Trump an advantage in this regard.
Mohammad Salami, a senior news editor at Al-Manar English Website, elaborated on the issue in an interview with Al-Manar TV.
“Netanyahu may do this because, I believe, he wants Trump to win and he wants to be able to tell Trump that he helped him win. Netanyahu knows that many in the rising generation of Democrats are hostile to Israel — or at least to the Israel he is creating.”
