The United States has unleashed a barrage of airstrikes across Yemen, leaving a devastating toll of lives lost and an already dire humanitarian situation in further disarray.
The latest wave of aggression began on Wednesday, as US forces targeted the eastern Saada region in northern Yemen with a series of 15 airstrikes. This was followed by two more strikes on the southeastern outskirts of Saada city. Tragically, the assaults resulted in an unspecified number of casualties, with reports of both martyrs and injuries.
The US onslaught did not stop there. A strike also hit Ras Issa in the northwestern Hodeidah province, while another targeted a civilian vehicle in the Qahaza area south of the capital, Sanaa. Moreover, communication networks in Mount Nama, located in central Yemen’s Ibb governorate, were struck by US airpower.

The attacks on Hodeidah were particularly devastating, with US forces launching an assault on a water reservoir in the al-Mansuriyah district, just hours after striking the local water authority building in the same area. Local media reported that this disrupted water services for more than 50,000 residents.
This latest barrage of violence follows a string of US airstrikes that have rocked Yemen since mid-March, resulting in 61 martyrs and 139 injuries. Alarmingly, human rights organizations and humanitarian workers have warned that these systematic and continuous attacks have exacerbated the country’s already dire humanitarian crisis, severely hindering the operations of relief organizations.
The Guardian newspaper, citing these sources, reported that the US military campaign, conducted in coordination with its British and Israeli allies, has taken a heavy toll on Yemeni civilians. In total, 250 civilians have been killed and 714 wounded since the start of this relentless offensive.
As the US continues its assault on Yemen, the country’s people are left to grapple with the devastating consequences, their suffering compounded by an increasingly dire humanitarian situation that threatens to spiral out of control.
