The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has released a statement mourning the deaths of one of its senior commanders, Hassan Farhat (Abu Yasser), along with his son Hamza and daughter Jinan, who were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on their home in the southern Lebanese city of Saida.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, also expressed their sorrow over the “martyrdom” of the three victims. The Brigades vowed that the “cowardly policy of assassinations” targeting their members, both within and outside of Palestine, will not deter them from continuing their armed resistance.
According to reports, the Israeli airstrike occurred overnight on Thursday, hitting a residential neighborhood in Saida. The attack caused panic and damage among civilians in the area. The target of the strike was Hamas leader Hassan Farhat, who was in an apartment on Dalaa Street in Saida’s city center when it was bombed by an Israeli drone.

The Israeli occupation forces had launched several raids since the evening on areas in southern Lebanon, including al-Naqoura, Nabatieh, and Saida, resulting in damage to the targeted locations. Another airstrike was also reported to have struck the Wadi Ezza area in southern Lebanon.
Hamas has vowed that the cowardly assassination of its commander and his family members will not deter the group from continuing its armed resistance against the Israeli occupation.
