Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, concluded a swift visit to the Syrian capital Damascus where he met with the interim President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. The meeting, attended by ministers from the two sides reviewed the opportunities of cooperation in the various fields.
The crisis of the Syrians displaced to Lebanon, unveiling the destiny of the Lebanese prisoners in Syria, and horizons of the economic cooperation between the two countries topped the agenda of the meeting.
Salam arrived at Damascus Airport at 1:30 pm today, accompanied by a ministerial delegation comprising Lebanon’s Minister of Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, Minister of Interior, Brigadier General Ahmad al-Hajjar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Youssef Rajji.
From the airport, Premier Salam and his accompanying delegation headed to the People’s Palace, where they were received by Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.
Afterwards, a meeting was held attended by delegations from both countries.
