Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday lashed out at the international coalition operating in Syria, saying the coalition led by the US is protecting Nusra Front terrorist group.
Lavrov said that the situation around the Nusra Front terrorist group in Syria remains “very ambiguous,” as some members of the US-led coalition are constantly trying to protect militants from being eliminated.
“They [the US] did not have the spirit or the courage or the ability… to dissociate Jabhat al-Nusra from those oppositionists [of Syria] with which the US side cooperated… This is absolutely unacceptable,” Lavrov said after talks with his Jordanian counterpart during a visit to Amman.
Meanwhile, Lavrov stressed that all those who are on the Syrian soil without Damascus permission are violating international law.
He pointed out that the US presence in Syria violates international law, but we can utilize from this presence in confronting terrorism.
