Syrian air defenses repelled an Israeli raid on a military base in the country’s center, as the occupation army confirmed an F16 fighter jet was shot down.
“The Israeli enemy on Saturday dawn launched a new aggression against one of the military bases in the central area, and the army air defense confronted the aggression and hit more than one aircraft, SANA news agency quoted military source as saying.
For its part, occupation army, confirmed an F16 fighter jet was downed, noting that the two pilots ejected and they were alive but injured.
“Syrian anti-aircraft missiles targeted an Israeli F-16, prompting the pilots to eject. The plane went down in northern Israel. The two pilots were taken to the hospital in stable condition,” Haaretz reported.
Zionist media said the occupation army had earlier intercepted an “Iranian drone” launched from Syria into occupied territory.
“In response to the provocation, the IDF attacked Iranian targets in Syria,” Haaretz said referring to Israeli occupation forces.
“We identified an Iranian drone UAV which took off from Syrian territory. The drone was identified by IAF systems and was downed by an IAF helicopter. The Iranian drone fell in our territory and is in our possession.” Occupation army spokesperson Brigadier General Ronen Manelis said.
