Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has denounced US President Donald Trump’s aggressive threats against the Islamic Republic, warning that any act of aggression will be met with a crushing response from the Iranian nation.
In a statement posted on X on Monday, directly addressing Trump’s repeated ultimatums targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure, Qalibaf exposed the enemy’s tactic of disguising its aggressive desires as “news” while issuing open threats.
“The enemy promotes its desires as news while threatening our nation at the same time. Big Mistake. If they hit one, they’ll take several back,” the Parliament speaker stated.
Qalibaf expressed absolute confidence in the Iranian people’s steadfastness, stressing that under the wise and prudent leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the nation will compel any aggressor to bitterly regret its adventurism and will fully reclaim its legitimate rights.
“God willing, the people of Iran, under the leadership of the Supreme Leader, will make the enemy regret the aggression and reclaim their rights,” he stated.
The remarks come in the wake of Trump’s latest provocations, in which he threatened to “obliterate” Iran’s power plants, oil wells, and even water desalination facilities unless Tehran fully reopened the Strait of Hormuz within a 48-hour deadline — a blatant attempt at economic blackmail and a clear violation of international law.
Iranian officials have dismissed the US president’s saber-rattling as psychological warfare aimed at manipulating global energy markets and compensating for Washington’s strategic failures in the region.
As the Islamic Republic continues to stand firm against imperialist bullying, such threats only strengthen national unity and highlight the futility of US pressure tactics.
Backed by the full support of its people and the strategic depth of the Axis of Resistance, Iran remains prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests with overwhelming force if necessary.
Qalibaf’s statement serves as yet another clear signal to the enemy that the era of unchallenged US-Zionist aggression in the region is over, and any miscalculation will only hasten the enemy’s isolation and defeat.
The latest criminal US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders.
The Iranian armed forces have responded by launching daily missile and drone operations targeting locations in the Israeli-occupied territories as well as US military bases and assets across the West Asia region.
They have also blocked the Strait of Hormuz to oil and gas tankers affiliated with the adversaries and those cooperating with them to maintain security at the strategic waterway.
