Lebanon registered on Sunday sharp rise in coronavirus cases as six new related deaths were recorded, in the highest daily death toll since the first infection was confirmed in the country last February.
In its daily report, Health Ministry reported that coronavirus cases in the country rose by 439 to 8,881.
The report added that the toll of coronavirus related deaths nationwide reached 103 after 6 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours,
The ministry said, meanwhile, that the number of recoveries reached 2,724 after 274 recovery cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
It noted that 6,364 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours including 1,625 tests at Beirut International Airport.
Lebanon has been witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases recently, with 397 infections recorded on Saturday.
