Iran’s Judiciary spokesperson, Asghar Jahangir, announced Saturday that security and intelligence forces have identified “enemy-linked networks” operating inside the country. Speaking at a press briefing, Jahangir credited valuable intelligence gathering for the discovery.
Jahangir assured the public that follow-up actions are being conducted “swiftly, decisively, and precisely,” and promised that more details would be released soon.
Addressing questions about the recent attack on Evin Prison, Jahangir dismissed claims that the strike was intended by ‘Israel’ to eliminate specific spies, stating, “I do not confirm this claim.”

However, he asserted that the Israeli regime’s objective in attacking the prison was to demonstrate its disregard for international norms. “The Zionist regime’s objective in the attack was to show that it places no value on international rules,” he said, linking this behavior to what he described as its unpunished record of human rights violations.
He characterized the attack as a “cowardly attempt” aimed at instilling fear and undermining public support for the Islamic Revolution, Islam, and Iran. Jahangir reported that the strike resulted in deaths and injuries among “ordinary citizens, prison staff, judiciary employees, the families of prisoners, and local residents.”
Denouncing the incident as “a terrorist act and a crime against humanity,” Jahangir stated it violated all international norms. He urged the international community, especially those vocal about human rights, to take concrete legal action against Israel for its alleged crimes.
