Lebanon’s PM-designate Mustafa Adib announced Wednesday that the new government must be composed of specialists and experts, adding that it must be able to regain the confidence of the Lebanese as well as the Arab and international communities.
Speaking after the end of the non-binding parliamentary consultations, Adib said that he would benefit from the opinions and ideas of the MPs, adding that he looks for a fruitful cooperation with the House.
The PM-designate stressed that coping with the socioeconomic and health crises, encountering Beirut port catastrophe, protecting the civil peace and carrying out the structural reforms top his government’s agenda.
Adib rejected to answer the reporters’ questions, stressing that it is time to work, not to speak, and urging all the Lebanese to be optimistic.
It is worth noting that 90 of the parliament members nominated on Monday Lebanon’s ambassador to Germany to create the new government, amid expectations that he would succeed in forming his cabinet in a very short time.
