The PM-designate Mustafa Adib met on Monday with President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace to discuss with him the new cabinet formation, stating, after the meeting, that the process requires more consultations.
In contrast to the expectations, the cabinet formation process has been challenged by a number of complications, including the number of ministers and other issues.
Moreover, House Speaker Nabih Berri had rejected to include the finance portfolio in the ministerial rotation over the sects, stressing that it must always be part of the Shia portion.
On August 31, President Michel Aoun tasked the former ambassador to Germany to form the new government as 90 members of the parliament nominated him during the parliamentary consultations at Baabda Palace.
