Lebanon on Saturday registered 1, 119 new coronavirus cases with 9 related fatalities, Health Ministry announced.
In its daily report, the ministry said 1,079 new infections were recorded among local residents, while the other 40 cases were imported, raising the total infections nationwide since February to 95,355.
The Minister of Health in the Lebanese caretaker government, Hamad Hasan, announced that Lebanon will be one of the first countries to benefit from the “Pfizer” vaccine against Corona, indicating that Lebanon will also get two field hospitals from Qatar on Wednesday Akkar and Tyre.
Hassan explained that according to today’s recommendations, the sea, land and air crossings are excluded from the closure decision, and the Defense Council will make the final decision tomorrow.
9 new fatalities were registered over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide death toll to 732, the ministry added.
6,442 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, including 1133 at Beirut International Airport, according to the report.
831 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, including 305 at the ICU rooms, the report added, noting that the number of recoveries reached 52,677.
