Bahaa Hariri, the older brother of Lebanese PM-designate Saad Hariri held an ‘exclusive interview’ with Israeli Journalist Barak Ravid.
The controversial Lebanese figure emerged last year after keeping out of politics since the assassination of his father, Rafik Hariri in 2005.
Bahaa Hariri, who has been at odds with his brother, has been well known for his loyalty to Saudi Arabia and the UAE. By holding the interview, the Lebanese billionaire has echoed Gulf states, who recently normalized ties with Zionist entity.
In the interview published by Axios on Monday, Bahaa Hariri called on his brother Saad not to form a government with the Hezbollah, saying such a move would “hamper regional and international support” for his country as it tries pull itself out of an economic and political crisis.
“To me it is clear that anyone who forms a government which is under the control of Hezbollah is not doing the right thing,” Bahaa told Ravid.
“I think forming a government with Hezbollah is… a big mistake,” he said.
