The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) held on Saturday in Diyala province a military parade to mark its seventh anniversary in presence of the Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
The PMF was established in 2014 upon the religious decree (Fatwa) issued by Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Sistani who called all the Iraqi youths to fight ISIL terrorists. In 2017, the PMF, Iraqi army and security forces, and their regional allies managed to defeat the militant group.
Al-Kadhimi delivered a speech during the ceremony, underscoring the role of the PMF in defending the nation against the terrorist groups.
It is worth noting that 20 thousand PMF fighters participated in the parade which displayed the popular group’s basic military vehicles and weaponry.
PMF concluded the ceremony by reiterating pledge to the commander martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis to protect Iraq from the enemies.
