An official Saudi delegation arrived in the West Bank Tuesday, headed by non-resident ambassador Nayef Al-Sudairi, who will present his credentials to Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas at a later time.
The arrival marked the first time in 30 years since a delegation from Saudi Arabia visited Ramallah, when the Oslo Accords were being signed.
“We welcome His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Secretary General of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, Hussein Al-Sheikh, said on X (formerly Twitter), adding the credentials will be presented within a few days.”

AFP had confirmed the arrival with two Palestinian officials, including the director general of the PA borders and the acting governor of Jericho, stating that the delegation arrived through King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge.
“The Saudi ambassador entered the Palestinian zone,” director general of borders of the PA, Nazmi Mouhanna, confirmed to AFP.
The non-resident ambassador, based in Jordan, Sudairi would reportedly present his credentials to Abbas during a meeting scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (10:00 GMT) in Ramallah. And before that, the delegation will be received by Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki.
The ambassador appointment came amid a major reported push by Washington and Riyadh to reach a normalization agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Zionist entity.
