Russian President Vladimir Putin has described his country’s relations with Iran as “very good”, and said that Moscow will make every effort to enhance the ties.
Putin made the comment on Wednesday night in the resort city of Sochi as he addressed winners and finalists of a competition to choose the best teacher in Russia, the country’s Sputnik news agency reported.
“We have very good relations with Iran and we will make efforts to expand them in every possible way,” the Russian president said.
He also said that Russia is interested in opening educational institutes in Iran that will educate children in the Russian language and by using Russian methods.
Last Tuesday, Putin and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi spoke on the phone, discussing relations between the two countries.
Raisi expressed satisfaction over the interaction between the two sides, calling for speeding up the implementation of joint projects, including in transit and energy.
