Iran has been a key supporter of Hamas throughout the aggression on Gaza, providing diplomatic efforts to halt the war and sending humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Hamas leader’s visit to Tehran highlights the support from various groups within the Axis of Resistance, including in Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen. These groups have been actively supporting Hamas in its fight against ‘Israel’, with attacks on Israeli interests and US military forces in the region.
Israel’s offensive against Gaza began in response to Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, which was carried out in retaliation for Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. Since the Israeli aggression began, over 32,300 Palestinians have been martyred, and more than 74,000 others have been injured.
Hamas’ discussions in Tehran reflect the ongoing efforts to secure a ceasefire and bring an end to the war on Gaza, with support from Iran and other groups within the Axis of Resistance.
