Senior Lebanese officials denounced on Tuesday the Israeli aggression on Beirut’s Dahiyeh, warning against Israeli attempts to torpedo the ceasefire deal that ended the 66-day Israeli brutal war on Lebanon between September 23 and November 27, 2024.
Speaker of Lebanon’s Parliament Nabih Berri said: “The treacherous Israeli raid that targeted the southern suburb at dawn today, and for the second time in a few days, is not only a violation added to the 2,000 Israeli breaches of the ceasefire and UN Resolution 1701, but it is a blatant aggression against Lebanon and an area bordering its capital, Beirut, in its southern suburb.”
“Above all else, it is an Israeli attempt, with fire, blood, and destruction, to torpedo the ceasefire deal and undermine its implementation mechanism, to which Lebanon has fully committed,” the Lebanese speaker warned.
“It is a direct targeting of the efforts of the Lebanese military, security, and judicial forces, which have made great strides in uncovering the circumstances of the recent suspicious incidents in the south, which bear Israeli fingerprints in their timing, objectives, and methods.”

President Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli raid as “a serious warning about the scheme planned for Lebanon.”
“We will work with the government and the PM to thwart any attempt aimed at wasting this exceptional opportunity to save Lebanon.”
For his part, Premier Nawaf Salam said the attack “is a flagrant violation to UN Resolution 1701 which affirms Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” and “a clear breach of the arrangements for the cessation of hostilities reached last November.”
