President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday received Iranian Foreign Minister, Dr. Abbas Araghchi, at Baabda Palace, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties.
President Aoun affirmed Lebanon’s interest in “enhancing relations with Iran on a state-to-state basis,” stressing that “domestic dialogue is the gateway to resolving internal disputes, just as dialogue between states must prevail over violence.”
Aoun added that “rebuilding what was destroyed by the Israeli war on Lebanon remains a priority for the state, in coordination with the government and friendly nations, and in accordance with Lebanese law.”
For his part, Araghchi reiterated Iran’s support for “Lebanon’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” as well as for the country’s efforts to “end Israeli occupation.”
The Iranian official emphasized that Iran’s assistance to Lebanon stems from a “foundation of friendly relations and non-interference in internal affairs,” and expressed Iran’s support for “national dialogue among Lebanon’s diverse communities and political groups.”
Meeting with Speaker Berri
House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Tuesday received at the second Presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh, Iranian Foreign Minister, Dr. Abbas Araghchi, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani.
Discussions reportedly covered the general situation in Lebanon and the region, political developments, the reconstruction file, and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
After the meeting, Araghchi underlined the Iranian readiness to help Lebanon to carry out the reconstruction project, underlining Iran’s support for the national dialogue in Lebanon.
Araghchi denounced the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories, voicing Tehran’s readiness to back the Lebanese diplomatic efforts to liberate them.

Meeting with PM Salam
Iran’s top diplomat also met with the Lebanese prime minister Nawaf Salam, and the talks underlined the importance of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to Al-Manar reporter, Araghchi conveyed an invitation from the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Tehran in preparation for a new stage of reinforced ties and cooperation.

Araghchi landed in Beirut Tuesday morning as part of a broader regional diplomatic tour, offering strong statements of solidarity with Lebanon against what he described as external interference and occupation.
