Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has held talks with the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit in the city of Khankendi, Azerbaijan.
Pezeshkian, in the meeting with Aliyev on Friday, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to fostering regional collaboration, peace, and stability.
They also discussed bilateral relations and ways to boost cooperation between Tehran and Baku.

Pezeshkian, who has traveled to participate in the 17th Summit of ECO heads of state at the invitation of Aliyev, delivered a keynote address, in which, he defended Iran’s defensive military operations against Israeli targets in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
He thanked regional countries, the ECO, and organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), for condemning the Israeli attacks against Iran.
The Iranian president also met with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the summit.
President Pezeshkian during his meeting with Erdogan maintained that the unity of the Islamic nation is the only way to stop the crimes of the Israeli entity in the region.

The ECO is a political and economic intergovernmental organization founded by Turkey, Pakistan, and Iran to serve as a platform to discuss and improve development and promote trade and investment.
Currently, it has seven other members, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
