Pakistan has welcomed reports of a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran, expressing optimism that ongoing negotiations could soon yield a breakthrough while reaffirming its role as a discreet mediator.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it supports efforts aimed at resolving tensions between the United States and Iran, stressing that, as a facilitator, it would not disclose sensitive details that could undermine trust between the two sides.
“We welcome the news of a possible agreement between Washington and Tehran,” the ministry said, emphasizing its commitment to preserving confidence in the mediation process.
Speaking at a press conference, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said Pakistan expects progress in the talks, nut noted that Islamabad has not yet received a response from Iran regarding the US amendments.
“Regarding the Iranian-American dispute, you asked us when we expect an agreement to be reached. We remain optimistic, and I believe the simple answer is that we expect an agreement sooner rather than later,” he said.

The ministry noted it is not aware of where any eventual agreement might be signed, but said it would consider it an honor to host the occasion in Islamabad.
