The acting director of Beirut Port Bassem Al-Qaysi announced that the port had regained its full activity, adding that the Lebanese Army contributed to remove the debris and estimate the value of the losses caused by the massive explosion which occurred on August 4.
In a press conference, Al-Qaysi stressed that ships with all sizes can dock at the port, revealing that it received 21 container ships this week.
Two massive explosions rocked the port on August 4, killing around 185 people and wounding more than 6000. Dozens also are still missing.
The blast also destroyed most of the port’s constructions and damaged a huge number of buildings in the capital and its suburbs.
