Yemeni Armed Forces announced that the coming strikes against Saudi targets will hold the name of former president of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council martyr Saleh Al-Sammad.
Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree visited on Tuesday the Supreme Political Council and the Defense Ministry on the third martyrdom anniversary of Sammad.
“The Armed Forces are planning for more operations and they are awaiting orders by the leadership which has the final say on the time and place of such strikes,” Saree told Yemeni Channel Al-Massirah.
“Blood of martyr Sammad won’t go in vain,” the Beirut-based channel quoted the military spokesman as saying.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, Yemenis held an official ceremony to commemorate the third martyrdom anniversary of Sammad.
The event was attended by the Iranian ambassador and many state officials, Press TV reported.
Sammad was martyred on the 19th April 2018, when a Saudi-coalition air raid targeted his vehicle near the besieged port city of Hodeidah.
He was the first president of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council and an icon in the face of the Saudi war on Yemen. Sammad played a key role in supporting the Yemeni military industries that led to the capability of causing heavy blows to the Saudi economy.
