Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed on Friday that the Islamic Republic fully respects the Lebanese sovereignty, reiterating Tehran readiness to offer Beirut help in all fields.
In a press conference at the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, the top Iranian diplomat said talks with Lebanese officials focused on the economic crisis in the country.
“Iran fully respects Lebanon sovereignty and ready to cooperate with Lebanese Government in all fields,” he told reporters in remarks carried by Al-Manar TV.
Amir Abdollahian said that during his visit to Beirut he voiced Iran’s readiness to build two power plants and to supply Lebanon with both medical and food commodities.
“Iran will deliver fuel to Lebanon whenever the Lebanese Government or Islamic Resistance ask for,” the top Iranian diplomat added.
In this context, he stressed that the Islamic Republic won’t allow Washington to triumph in its economic war on Lebanon.
On Iran’s return to Vienna talks aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, Amir Abdollahian said that Tehran to make such a step “as long as the return serves the Iranian national interest.”
Meanwhile, he said that dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia “is on the right track,” stressing importance of such move in serving regional interests.
