Russia’s defense minister Sergei Shoigu has arrived in the Iranian capital city of Tehran to meet Iranian military officials.

Heading a high-ranking military delegation, Shoigu arrived in Tehran on Tuesday afternoon.

Shoigu was officially welcomed by Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and he is scheduled to meet top Iranian military officials.

Developing defense diplomacy, expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as countering common threats and international terrorism are among the main axes of discussion in the meetings.
