Syria Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Mikdad hoped on Monday that the new leadership in France would change the country’s attitude towards the Syrian crisis, noting that the present administration in France has supported the terrorist groups under various pretexts..
“We look for the new administration to reform the French foreign policy and get committed to counterterrorism.”
Mikdad added that the Syrian government and army are the real enemies of the terrorists and have sacrificed heavily to prevent terror from reaching France and other countries.
It is worth noting that the pro-European Emmanuel Macron, who ranked first in the first round of the elections, is set to face far-right candidate Marine Le Pen in France’s presidential run-off on May 7.
