Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement, strongly condemned on Tuesday the horrific massacre at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, underscoring its profound significance as an embodiment of the enemy’s brutality.
He pointed out that this dreadful event, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent martyrs, not only emphasizes the adversary’s cruelty but also accentuates their profound defeat in the ongoing conflict. Haniyeh lamented that this is yet another tragic addition to the series of massacres perpetrated by the Zionists ever since the occupation of Palestine.
In a resolute televised address, he underscored that the enemy exhibits a complete disregard for values, laws, customs, and international norms. He stressed that the same forces behind the Baptist Hospital massacre have been responsible for other past atrocities, such as the Sabra, Shatila, and Bahr al-Baqar massacres, and even the killing of Egyptian army prisoners. Haniyeh firmly asserted that those who granted unconditional support to the Israeli actions share in the responsibility for this brutal massacre, specifically pointing to the Americans who provided cover for the events.
Haniyeh dismissed any illusion that such heinous acts would obscure the enemy’s significant defeat or compel their people to surrender. He declared that the resistance movement will persist and will not waver until the occupier is ousted from their land and sacred places. He passionately called upon the Palestinian population in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and throughout the nation’s interior to unite in the face of the occupying forces.
Furthermore, he urged the Arab and Islamic communities to unite in condemnation of this ruthless massacre, emphasizing that they are presently in the process of shaping history. Haniyeh implored the international community, including the United Nations, the Security Council, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to explicitly denounce the horrors of the Baptist Hospital massacre.
