The Lebanese parliament is being calmly prepared to convene in its first presidential election sessions scheduled for Thursday as called for by House speaker Nabih Berri.
MP Alain Aoun told Al-Manar reporter that the session will oblige the various parliamentary blocs to deal with presidential elections seriously and hold the required consultations in this regard.
Head Free Patriotic Movement Gebran Bassil announced Wednesday that the FPM-led Strong Lebanon bloc will cast blank votes in the session.
“We will take part in tomorrow’s session and will cast blank votes, because we don’t have any candidate whom we support until now,” Bassil said at a press conference.
Bassil added that FPM bloc has prepared a document that contains a different approach for the presidential issue, noting that he would announce it next week.
